Volunteer Monitor is a national newsletter of volunteer water quality monitoring and contains reports about volunteer projects. It could be used for grant ideas and also lists some educational resources. It is available online or in print.

EPA's Nonpoint Source Information Electronic Discussion Forum: At the EPA's NPSINFO Discussion Forum Resource Center you will find information on NPSINFO, EPA's electronic list for discussing nonpoint source pollution (NPS) control issues, including watershed planning, management, and restoration.

The International Association for Great Lakes Research is a scientific organization made up of researchers studying the lakes of the world. For more information please click here. Great Lakes United is an international coalition of member organizations dedicated to preserving the Great Lakes - St. Lawrence River ecosystem by developing and promoting effective policy initiatives, carrying out education programs and promoting citizen action and grassroots leadership. TWIST Database Tool for Managing Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems. The US EPA Office of Water announces the release of "The Wastewater Information System Tool" (TWIST), a free off-the-shelf, user-friendly management tool that allows state and local health departments to effectively inventory and manage septic systems and alternative decentralized wastewater treatment systems in their jurisdictions. EPA Unveils First-Ever Assessment of U.S. Wadeable Streams. The study, Wadeable Streams Assessment (WSA), is the first consistent
evaluation of the streams that feed rivers, lakes, and coastal waters. Conducted between 2000 and 2004, the study was based on sampling at 1,392 sites selected to represent the condition of all streams that

StormwaterAuthority is a resource of comprehensive and relevant information, news, events, and education on stormwater. Their mission is to assist professionals on making educated and environmentally sound decisions about stormwater management and treatment. The Stormwater Stockpile is a directory of products, services and vendors for your stormwater needs which is searchable by state, company, product type among other things. The directory also includes lists of organizations/groups involved in water quality, educational and training resources, engineers/contractors, planning/funding resources and relevant research/publication/listserves- all related to water quality management.

The Great Lakes Town Hall is a Web-based resource that seeks to provide a forum for the rich diversity of residents of the Great Lakes region. The Great Lakes Town Hall includes a variety of resources, opportunities for interactive discussions, networking, and more. The site also includes lighter fare in its “Celebrate the Lakes” sections, including Great Lakes arts news, photos, tourism suggestions, and more.

Healing Our Waters® - Great Lakes Coalition Program Priorities Initiative - As part of its Program Priorities Initiative, the Healing Our Waters® - Great Lakes (HOW) Coalition is developing a Great Lakes Restoration Project Inventory. The inventory of Great Lakes restoration projects will provide concrete examples of on-the-ground restoration projects that need federal support. These projects will help the HOW Coalition make a compelling case to the 110th Congress next year for Great Lakes restoration funding.
